Midland Travel does neither sell, nor trade, nor rent, nor share any of your personal information. The only purpose for which Midland Travel uses your personal information is to complete your request.

On What Purpose Do We Need Your PI?

Midland Travel uses your personal information only to assure you the best service possible. Your information is required to contact you for travel plans, offers and to complete your travel reservation and documents. The sharing of your information is restricted to authorized Midland Travel personal and exclusive service providers.

The information that Midland Travel collects may also be used to generate internal statistics with intent to steadily improve our customer-oriented services.

Legal Disclosure

Midland Travel holds the right reserved to disclose your personal information in the event of it being required by law, governmental authorities or if the personal information is relevant to any lawsuit.

Terms and conditions described here are applicable to all services contracted with MIDLAND TRAVEL, which means MIDLAND TRAVEL services and third party services sold by MIDLAND TRAVEL. The client(s) of MIDLAND TRAVEL services is (are) deemed to have read and understood these policies and agree(s) to be bound by these terms and conditions – no signature(s) is (are) necessary.

  • The client(s) of MIDLAND TRAVEL has/have the responsibility to select a trip appropriate to his/their abilities and interests. MIDLAND TRAVEL will not pay for any expenses incurred for medical or unforeseen events. The client(s) of MIDLAND TRAVEL is/are held responsible for being in sufficient good health to accomplish the trip. MIDLAND TRAVEL and its associates take no responsibility for incidental costs for special arrangements or problems incurred by the passengers being unable to participate in the planned activities.
  • The client(s) are responsible to ensure that his/their passport(s), entry visa(s) or other required documents are in order and correspond to all the current standards.
  • No refund is distributed for missed sightseeing, meals, and early/late departures and disliked visits.
  • Any complaint(s) or claim(s) regarding Galápagos cruises must be brought straight to the specific Galápagos cruise operator directly in Galápagos. Requests for refunds must be handled directly in Galápagos with the specific cruise operator before leaving the Galápagos Islands. MIDLAND TRAVEL will act as middleman to assist the client(s) in receiving an official response from the cruise operator but cannot be held responsible for the cruise operator's final decision(s) on the complaint(s) and/or claim(s).
  • Any complaint(s) or claim(s) on non-Galápagos services must be brought to the attention of MIDLAND TRAVEL in written within 48-hours from the incident. MIDLAND TRAVEL will act as a middleman to assist the client(s) in receiving an official response from third party providers but cannot be held responsible for the provider's service(s) or decision(s) on the complaint(s) and/or claim(s).
  • MIDLAND TRAVEL strongly recommends all passengers to have travel insurance for trip delay, trip cancellation, baggage loss, accident and sickness prior to come to Ecuador. Travel insurance is not included in services sold by MIDLAND TRAVEL.
  • The client(s) must be available to be contacted by a MIDLAND TRAVEL representative in case of emergency. The client(s) must provide local contact details to MIDLAND TRAVEL to communicate with the client(s) for last minute changes or alterations on travel arrangements.
  • The client(s) must ensure that all personal booking/reservation data is filled out accurately. Later changes to personal booking/reservation data may be subject to penalties by third party service providers.
  • All client(s) are responsible to ensure that required documents and information are provided to the travel consultant in a timely manner.


  • Third party services reserve the right to alter their itineraries - where considered necessary - without prior notice. Extra costs as a result of unexpected changes in your itinerary for reasons beyond our control are the responsibility of the client(s).
  • MIDLAND TRAVEL cannot be held responsible for missed or delayed tours if no means of communication are provided to MIDLAND TRAVEL.
  • MIDLAND TRAVEL reserves the right to change prices without prior notice in the event of any price increase beyond the control of MIDLAND TRAVEL (i.e. Governmental taxes on fuel and/or fluctuations).
  • MIDLAND TRAVEL will not be held responsible for client(s) who do not check-in at the specified time before flights (90 minutes prior to flight departure for national flights including Galápagos and respectively 3 hours for international flights).
  • MIDLAND TRAVEL is not responsible for client(s) who do not follow instructions for the specific service(s).


  • The Client(s) will get an invoice/bill that specifies the service(s), costs and payment requirements.
  • All payments must be received on (or before) the time limit set on your invoice/bill. Failure to remit the payment by the set time limit will result in an automatic change of status to a provisional basis, the possible inability to restate your reservation, forfeiture of deposit payment and/or cancellation of the reservations.
  • There is no binding contract until a payment has been received by MIDLAND TRAVEL.
  • Receipt of your deposit payment or full payment shall be deemed to constitute acceptance by the client(s) of all MIDLAND TRAVEL terms and conditions. All payments received are confirmed in written form by your travel consultant.
  • Any reservation(s) made within sixty-one (61) days prior to the beginning of the service(s) will be accepted if space(s) is/are available and full payment is received by the time limit set on the invoice/bill. Payment options are Western Union, Ecuadorian check(s) and bank wire.
  • Payment(s) made by international check(s) must be received at least sixty-one (61) days prior to the beginning of the service(s). The check(s) must be sent by registered courier (e.g. FedEx, UPS, DHL etc.) to our office in Quito, Ecuador.
  • MIDLAND TRAVEL will not provide any tickets, coupons, vouchers or documents until full payment has been received and in case of checks, until the check has been cashed. (also see section V for receiving final travel documents)
  • MIDLAND TRAVEL will not accept responsibility for wire transfer and/or courier charges or errors.
  • Service rates are fixed at the time of confirming and booking services. Subsequent discounts or last minute specials offered by service providers after confirming the reservations are not retroactive.
  • For child discount, the client(s) must provide MIDLAND TRAVEL with a copy of the child's passport.


  • In the majority of cases, all travel documents are in an electronic format (pdf document or similar). To provide you with your electronic travel documents, please make sure MIDLAND TRAVEL has the necessary email address.
  • In rare cases, a service provider may supply physical documents. The client(s) has/have different options to receive such physical documents:
  • Pick up travel documents directly from the MIDLAND TRAVEL office (Monday to Friday from 09h00 to 18h30) at least 24 hours before beginning of the service(s)
  • Have the travel documents delivered to a hotel in Quito by a representative of MIDLAND TRAVEL
  • Clients departing from Guayaquil can pick up physical documents and material at the TAME CARGO office at the airport at least 120 minutes before flight departure. For passengers who pick up their documents in the TAME CARGO office at the Guayaquil airport, a tracking number will be given to the client(s). (TAME CARGO office hours: Monday to Friday from 05h00 to 20h00, Saturdays from 05h00 to 18h00, Sundays and Holidays from 07h00 to 18h00)
  • Generally, all final travel documents are provided by the particular service providers approximately 8 to 10 days prior to the beginning of service(s). This can differ from operator to operator. The client(s) will receive service vouchers and/or airline tickets no less than 72 to 24 hours prior to the beginning of the service(s).


  • In order to issue the final confirmation of service(s), MIDLAND TRAVEL needs:
  • Complete names of the passenger(s) (as they appear in the passport)
  • Passport number & passport copy
  • Home address & telephone number
  • Dietary requests (MIDLAND TRAVEL will do its best to satisfy dietary needs, but in certain cases this may not be possible)
  • Nationality
  • Date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY)
  • Language spoken and mother tongue
  • In special cases (i.e. scuba diving, climbing) MIDLAND TRAVEL will need further information such as: height, weight, physical condition, etc.
  • Local (Ecuador) contact information


  • Any cancellation of a booking must be provided to MIDLAND TRAVEL in written form and shall only be effective upon its acknowledged receipt by MIDLAND TRAVEL.
  • Cancellation policies differ from service provider to service provider; please inquire the particular cancellation policies that apply to your service(s) of your MIDLAND TRAVEL consultant.
  • As a general guideline (exceptions exist) if written notification is received at least ninety-one (91) days prior to the beginning of service(s), your deposit will be refunded, minus a US $200 service charge per person. If your cancellation is made 90 to 61 days in advance, 50% of your payment will be refunded, minus a US $200 service charge per person. If your cancellation is made 61 days or less prior to departure, full payment is forfeited.
  • If you are a "no show", your reservation will be considered cancelled without having given notice to MIDLAND TRAVEL the full payment is forfeited.
  • Any request to alter a booking once it has been confirmed is subject to space availability & third party service provider conditions. If MIDLAND TRAVEL is able to modify your reservation, an administrative fee of $100 per change will be assessed. The fee(s) will be added to your final invoice.
  • Reimbursement of costs is depending on terms and conditions of third party providers and the elapsed time to refund the expenses. The average reimbursement period is 30 to 60 days.
  • Refunds by bank wire transfer or other electronic payment method tend to claim service fees, which the client(s) will incur.
  • No expenses are refunded:
  • For lost travel time or substitution of facilities.
  • For itineraries changed after departure.
  • For circumstances arising beyond MIDLAND TRAVEL's control (e.g. alternative arrangements required to ensure the safety and/or further participation and enjoyment of your program).
  • If you do not arrive for any accommodation, service, sightseeing or trip segment without informing MIDLAND TRAVEL.
  • If you leave your program after its beginning, or miss any scheduled sightseeing, activities, meals or accommodations.
  • If you suffer loss of service(s) or inconvenience as a result of traveling without the correct documentation (e.g. passports, visas and/or vaccination certificates).
  • Last minute discounts or special offers published after the reservation has been confirmed.


  • PayPal (Credit Card)
    You can send us your payment easy and secure to our PayPal-account. Please notice that payments made through PayPal have a surcharge of 5.9% which must be added to the amount before sending.

  • Western Union
    Fill out a Quick Pay form from Western Union with the following information:

    You will then need to accord MIDLAND TRAVEL the confirmation/tracking code provided by Western Union, along with the name, city/country of the person who made the transaction, and the exact amount sent.
